God is love.


He is the king of the universe;

"God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." (1 john 1:5)


"I am YHVH; That is my name..." - (Isaiah 42:8)
God is the creator, and sustainer of the universe;

God is also GOOD,
And good beyond any measure of human goodness that's ever been seen.
"Give thanks to YHVH, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever" (Psalm 136:1).


The name YHVH Can be interpreted many ways, and has many embedded meanings and connotations;
It can be interpreted literally as "Yehovah", "Yahoveh", "Yahuah"(Similar but with a silent V), or "Yahava", but is most commonly (and also likely "MIS-")interpreted as "Yahweh" (similar to yahuah).
The name, without vowels is seemingly unpronouncable, but if we add vowels,('A' for example (The Hebrew letter Aleph)) we get YaHaVaH, which is very close to the Hebrew word for love "Ahavah",
So "Yahavah" could be perceived as "God of Love",

No one at God-Distilled is a Hebrew scholar, but according to "Hebrew4Christians.com"There is a strong connection between the word "Hayah" Meaning "To Be' and the name "Yahoveh"(He who IS) (Hebrew4christians.com/namesofG-d)

There also seems to be a loose connection on the word "Yahab" meaning "To give" (Hebrew) so:
"Yaha- and Ahava (when abbreviated)(Yacha-(Ahava)) could loosely be put together as: "To give love", "He who loves", or "He who gives love"


Some hebrew letters also have direct Associated meanings,
"Aleph" (The sound "A") can denote, Strength, A leader, A Bull, and Military might, and the Letter B (Beit) means "House";
So the letters YHVH, "Yod" "He", "Vav", and "He" can also mean (Literally) "HANDS/NAILS, LOOK/BEHOLD, HOOKED/ATTACHED, LOOK", Reading: essentially "Behold the nails in my hands";

We're getting into somewhat shaky territory here, as these are all inferences, but they are meanings that can be drawn from the name.

God is also known by many other names, such as Adonai (My Lord / King / Master) Haschem (Literally "The name") and Elohim (The God(plural))
God is also our Father ("Abba") as John 1:12 states: "But to all who did receive Him, to those who obeyed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."

God loves us, and he is not some distant figure, far off in the sky,
He is eternal, Immortal, Universal, and Infinite;

"Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
